Closed feet/closed hips.

K...first of all. I've just started to really get into hitting- mostly for my short irons so far...and I've discovered just how important it is to align my hips to right field so I bump to right field. If I don't, I seem to get pulls and crappy contact in general. A straight-line bump just seems to pull your hands the wrong way...incompatible.

But...how about closed feet for hitting instead of just closing your hips?

I can't seem to get comfy with closing my hips with a square toe line.

I wouldn't call my hitting stroke very correct, but it works for me and is similar to what you're doing:

Closed stance
Closed hips

i do my best to bump and swing to right field but i tend to just pull it right to my target so thats how "I" play "my hitting stroke"

Sorta like the US Open leader ;) I just pull draw it to my target.....hmmm who else used to do that, sam someone??? :D
